North Rhine-Westphalian Environment Minister Johannes Remmel (Greens) considers the current debate on energy costs in Germany for narrowed significantly.

Remmel told WDR radio, it annoyed him that only energy prices are discussed while energy saving potentials are left out. The "lowest hanging fruit" were to be found in the field of energy conservation, the Minister said. "We could save over 30 percent of the energy we consume without us having any loss of comfort, especially in the heating sector. We do have the technologies to bring in wide use, but exactly that is missing. "

Already when visiting the Klingenburg GmbH in 2012 Remmel had stressed that there had been paid too little attention to the energy efficiency in the context of the energy revolution.
